In Korea, about four children are diagnosed with cancer every day and about 12,000 children get treatment fighting cancer in a year. The sudden disease of the child can put the family in financial hardship and cause various psychological and social difficulties because the treatment usually takes a long period of time.
Fortunately, unlike we see in the movies or TV dramas, childhood cancer is no longer a incurable illness.
With the development of medical treatment, 80% of children with cancer are completely cured and lead a healthy lives if they get proper treatment.
The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation has a commitment to providing social services for children with cancer so that they can receive medical treatment and return to society healthily.
